Claim Map and Location
Notice
The
Eyese Bar Mine (on the Klamath River) is located about 31 miles
downriver from Happy Camp. The upriver boundary is located near
the Highway 96 mile marker 10:60. The downriver boundary is
located around half-mile down river from the upper boundary near
mile marker 10:05. Look for a small un-named creek entering the
west side of the river (see map).
This is another very beautiful claim! Originally, it was part
of the Klamath Mineral Reserve property. But, based upon the
input from interested people, Klamath Mineral Reserve was broken
down into multiple, smaller (less expensive) properties. The
Eyese Top Mine adjoins the upstream boundary of this claim, and
the downriver boundary adjoins the Lost Gold Bar Mine. This
breakdown can be seen on the
overview map.
There is good
RV camping in a road-side pull-off alongside Highway 96,
with
old foot trails which can be seen extending down towards the
river. There is also a wonderful secluded,
shaded
camping area near the downriver boundary of the claim. A
small dirt berm separates this camping area from and
old
miner's camp, and a
nice trail down towards the river.
Eyese
Bar (this claim takes in the downstream portion of the bar)
is just one more high-bankers' paradise in this section of the
Klamath River! There are visible stream-bends and rapids along
the claim. These provide the type of diversity that should
produce rich high-grade gold deposits for suction dredgers,
high-bankers and electronic prospectors. Old hydraulic tailing
cuts are visible up the mountainside, proving that the
Old-timers did well in the immediate area.
PROSPECTS: This mining property is located in a
historically-rich section of the Klamath River. There were bench
operations and hydraulic mines all along the river in the local
area. Evidence of
old
bench work including, tail races and tailings piles, are
visible.
There is exposed bedrock to be found along with in-place
bench material that is being washed into the natural riffles
within the river. This claim has lots of potential for
high-banking, deep & shallow dredging, sluicing and metal
detecting.
For anyone looking to extend the length of this claim, the
adjoining claims located just up and down river ("Eyese Top" &
"Lost Gold Bar") are also being sold in this auction. Please see
overview map.
