Overview of Special Auction of Unpatented Placer Claims

1. There are several unpatented claims up for auction. The starting times for each auction will be announced by email and on this website.

We have an email system set up to make announcements pertaining to any upcoming special auctions or new claims for sale. If you wish to receive updates about this site by email you must fill out the sign-up form in the left hand column of the claim list page. You can find it by clicking here.

2. After registering you can place a bid by clicking on the "Make Bid" button at the bottom of the auction description page.

3. Bids are accepted in $500.00 increments until the auction is closed by the auction software.

4. Each auction will run for 7 days and will be closed automatically by the auction software.

Transaction Details: All mining claim sales are on a cash only basis. Payment will only be accepted by wire transfer within 72 hrs after the auction closing. When you choose to purchase a claim through idiggold2.com, transfer of ownership will be made to you by notarized quit claim deed upon clearing of your funds. Seller will record the deed with the County Recorder's Office and the Bureau of Land Management in Sacramento, and pay all transfer fees accordingly; at which time, and transfer of ownership becomes officially final.

The placement of a successful bid in this auction establishes a legally binding contract between the successful bidder and the seller. The announcement of the high bid amount and the bidder's name at auction closing establishes the contract, which is subject to final acceptance by the seller.

From the Bureau of Land Management Frequently Asked Questions: "Placer claims are located by legal subdivision. An individual may locate up to 20 acres with a maximum of 160 contiguous acres with 8 or more people (an association). A corporation is considered a single locator. (43 CFR 3842) "

"A mining claim is transferred by recording a Quit Claim Deed with the County Recorder where the mining claim is located, and then by filing the Quit Claim Deed with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) State Office. The cost to file the Quit Claim Deed with the BLM is $10.00 per claimant, per claim."
